An unusual flower pod/nut from the Banksia Grandis tree found in Western Australia. The fruit may be 4 to 9 inches long with an average size of 6 inches. The nuts are hard and solid, with seed pods running from the outside, towards the center core. Easily turned giving a very unusual result.

Tagua Nut

Tagua nuts come from the seed of the Ivory Palm which is found in South America. They are used as a substitute for Elephant Ivory and are ideal for small turnings and carving. All of the nuts have small interior voids. They can be worked with a variety of tools (files, drills, rasps, etc.)
